About Jessica Killin

Jessica Killin is running for Congress to bring competence, courage, and character back to Washington and to be a fierce advocate for Colorado families.

A proud fourth-generation Coloradan, Jessica’s story is deeply rooted in the Rocky Mountain State. From camping and hiking to skiing at Monarch Mountain, she grew up with a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the places that make Southern Colorado special.

Raised in Colorado Springs by two public school educators, Jessica was taught to value hard work and the importance of public service. When Jessica was growing up, you could live a middle-class life on two educators' salaries, which is why she is so committed to rebuilding a robust middle class today.

Growing up among military families and veterans in El Paso County, Jessica learned at an early age what it meant to be a patriot and the importance of duty, honor, and country.

After graduating from Falcon High School, she earned a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship and went on to serve as a Captain and paratrooper in the U.S. Army, where she was stationed overseas and led soldiers as a Military Police Officer. Jessica was active in peacekeeping missions in the Balkans and NATO expansion throughout Europe.

Following her military service, Jessica earned her law degree at Georgetown and dedicated the next chapter of her career to improving the livelihoods of everyday Americans, military families, and veterans.

For over a decade, Jessica worked as an executive at USAA promoting policies to protect military families and veterans from the fallout of the 2008 financial crisis – streamlining VA home loans and seeking ways to stop payday lenders from preying on our soldiers. During that time, Jessica balanced full-time work while raising her daughter, Cora.

Drawing on her military and private sector experience and fueled by her patriotism, Jessica then returned to public service in leadership roles on Capitol Hill and at the White House,  where she worked to ensure safety, security and opportunity for all Americans.

In Washington, Jessica saw firsthand the urgent need for change in both parties. Now, she’s ready to bring her patriotism, proven tenacity, and independent voice to deliver solutions to improve the lives of Coloradans.

Jessica is an Army veteran, public servant, and devoted mom.
