COLORADO SPRINGS, CO Today, Jessica Killin’s campaign for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District launched its third general election TV ad, Service Before Self.” The ad is part of a significant paid media strategy from Killin that will air across El Paso County.

This 30-second spot highlights how the Army instilled in Jessica Killin the value of service before self – a principle she carried into her work at USAA, where she helped veterans and military families, and one she will bring to Congress. Jessica will fight to restore integrity to Washington by banning members of Congress from trading public stocks or becoming lobbyists after leaving office, and by supporting term limits for members of Congress.

Crank has been a creature of Washington for thirty years. After working as a Congressional staffer, he made millions first as a corporate lobbyist, then as a political operative running a dark-money super PAC, and now as a Washington politician. As soon as he was elected to Washington, he applied for a special waiver that allowed him to accept gifts from lobbyists in violation of normal ethics rules – then hid the gifts he received from the public.

Fourth-generation Coloradan and Army Veteran Jessica Killin said, “From my time in the Army to serving veterans and military families at USAA, I’ve always believed that service comes before self. All of our representatives should stand by that principle. I’ll fight to restore integrity and accountability by making sure members of Congress put the people they serve ahead of their own interests. I’ll stand up for banning congressional stock trading, preventing members of Congress from becoming lobbyists, and implementing term limits.”

“Service Before Self” transcript:

I’m Jessica Killin. In the Army, I learned to put service before self.

I carried that lesson… helping veterans and military families.

I’m running for Congress because too many politicians from both parties have forgotten who they’re supposed to serve.

I’ll ban members of Congress from trading public stocks or becoming lobbyists. And support term limits.

It’s called public service for a reason.

I approve this message because we need leaders in Washington who always put service before self.
