Jessica Killin Statement on Colorado’s Special Session
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – As the Colorado Legislature held a special session to remedy the $1.2 billion dollar hole in Colorado’s budget caused by the Big Beautiful Bill, Jessica Killin, an army veteran and candidate for Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District, released the following statement:
“Jeff Crank’s deciding vote not only added $4 trillion to the national debt, it also blew a $1.2 billion hole in Colorado’s budget, and Colorado lawmakers were forced to clean up his mess. Now families are paying the price—higher costs, fewer services, and insurmountable debt….all so Crank’s billionaire backers can pocket even bigger tax breaks.
“That’s not fiscal responsibility. It is saddling our kids and grandkids with unsustainable debt. And that’s a betrayal of the people Jeff Crank is supposed to serve.
I will always fight for fiscal responsibility and common-sense solutions that protect people, not the ultrawealthy. Coloradans deserve better than politicians who pass the buck and force others to pick up the pieces.”
