PRESS RELEASE

DCCC adds Jessica Killin in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District to “Red to Blue” Program

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Today, fourth-generation Coloradan and Army Veteran Jessica Killin announced that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added her to its Red to Blue program, making Killin’s campaign to flip CO-05 one of the top targets in the country. This highly competitive and battle-tested designation indicates that the DCCC is significantly invested in the district and will provide Killin with the support she needs to flip this seat.

“Jessica Killin is a dedicated public servant with a proven track record of delivering for families. While Jeff Crank caters to extremists, guts health care, and undermines our servicemembers and veterans, Killin is proving to Coloradans that she is the independent leader they deserve in Washington. Killin has never forgotten where she comes from, and she will win this seat,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.

Jessica Killin said, “El Paso County deserves a representative who will deliver results and put people over partisanship. That is what this community needs and deserves. It’s encouraging to see national recognition of the momentum for change that we’ve long felt locally. Jeff Crank has repeatedly failed us by making our lives more expensive, backing Trump’s costly war in Iran, and refusing to host a single in-person town hall. That is a total and complete failure of leadership. I am a patriot, I love my country, and I will always put the people of the Pikes Peak Region first and bring competence, courage, and character to Washington.”

This designation follows polling showing a tied race and national race raters shifting the district in the Democrats’ favor. Additionally, Jessica Killin entered April 2026 with $1.5 million in the bank, outpacing incumbent Jeff Crank by nearly $350,000.

CO-05 is now a true battleground and is the fastest Democratic-trending Congressional district in the country.

Jessica Killin has the experience and support to flip this seat

Jessica Killin is an Army Veteran, public servant, private sector leader, and mom. Her experience in the military is well-suited to a district that has over 100,000 service members and veterans, yet has not been represented by a veteran in over 40 years. As a fourth-generation Coloradan, she also has deep roots in the district, growing up in Colorado Springs to two public school educators.

With her experience to lead on day one in Congress and her ability to run a campaign to unseat Jeff Crank, she has amassed both local and national support.

In El Paso County, she has earned the endorsements of Councilmember Nancy Henjum, Former Councilmember Yolanda Avila, Former State Senator Pete Lee, Councilmember Kimberly Gold, and State Representative Amy Paschal. She has over 1000 donors and over 400 volunteers in El Paso County.

She has also earned the endorsements of Colorado’s entire Democratic delegation: Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper, and Congressmembers Jason Crow, Diana DeGette, Joe Neguse, and Brittany Pettersen. Key national organizations have also backed Killin: Defend the Vote, Elect Democratic Women, EMILYs List, New Politics, VoteVets, and Voter Protection Project.

Finally, she has outraised Crank three quarters in a row, giving her a significant cash-on-hand advantage:

With unmatched momentum, deep community support, and the resources to compete, Jessica Killin is ready to defeat Jeff Crank and bring responsive leadership to Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.
